    Thanks Vy for sharing all this knowledge, it’s absolutely amazing and you’ve helped me a lot in past couple years! Now i’m in a bit of a pickle as I work as ux designer i big bank, and was asked about ux/design in automation (without much details unfortunately) and i’m kinda lost… could you point me in some general direction on what to research or how to approach this topic?

    That will all be factored into the AI programs. The observational and interaction part will be interpreted through AI even better than humans. The ego is still in denial of what is happening.

    I loved the points about Gravitas, especially "How can I contribute value?" and "What behavior are you trying to scale" - Ha Phan. I also appreciated the part about Designers as Business Partners since we understand User Needs, ideate toward digital/physical solutions, and contribute our insights toward increasing profits. I'm curious about UX consulting and how you do it as an individual, as I graduated last year with my B.S. Engineering in Product Design from Stanford but haven't had any luck with jobs. Late-diagnosed Disability made Stanford Engineering harder than it needed to be, and as I've had no internship experience but lots of contract work, I've been freelancing doing 3D / graphics and re-learning CAD since graduating June 2023. I'm more keen on Industrial Design even though my degree was more focused on d.school and Design Thinking, but the principles are great to apply anywhere. Much to learn, I love learning and am very skills focused but I need to get better about putting myself out there and Networking. I want my "T-shaped" skillset breadth to be UX, Digital design, and Creative with my Depth being CAD / Physical Products. Great video, love the info and the delivery plus superb insights. Thanks for sharing :)

    Why should anyone check testing results for statistic significance, re-test with null hypothesis and do a chi-square, if I can prompt AI to do that for me? Things like this need to be supported by AI. Scheduling testing with the same cohort of participants, I won't do myself. I have better things to do, i.e. qualitative research that needs a human being with basic or deep understanding of behavioral psychology.

    These are excellent suggestions and I really like adding the disclaimer. I was worried after being laid off and going through the legal processes and having to sign NDAs that it would nullify the last 3 years of my work. I’ve since changed logos and their images but I was wondering if you have found any issues with using the actual stock images? It would take me a million years to update all of those. 😂

    Appreciate the enthusiasm and the insights, but I can't feel but disappointed. //Full disclaimer, I'm definitely biased, I'm a cofounder of a UX tool that is heavily depended on AI, we have +50k designer/researchers using our app, and many teams from big-name companies. We are 1.5 years in and seeing no sign of slowing down, so hopefully not a graveyard material. // With that disclaimer out of the way, I'm 35mins in the video, and all I hear is discouragement. What is the message that we are trying to convey here? why do we want to bring "old" times back? Do we count all the billion-dollar failures of recent past on old methods? The market is shifting toward profit first, and this is how it should have been from the beginning. Claiming that AI will cause all sort of issues while are in a practical recession partially caused by the over hiring and overspending is really not a good look. AI is a tool, it's not a replacement. Learn it, embrace it, or get left behind.

    In a lot of discussions I hear the dearth of the UX Designer and how this part of the job will be automated in relation to Software engineering, excuse me if I am wrong, but I feel like design and human need drives innovation MORE than engineering, for example the original iPhone merging music, phone and camera only came about because of human need and design meeting engineering innovation. I feel as if UX would be the “champion”, if not only to champion the human element of design.

    Fascinating discussion with Dr. Nick Fine on the integration of AI in UX! It's insightful to hear about the real and potential impacts of AI on the field. Like many tools, I use Plerdy’s free version to enhance UX on my site by analyzing user interactions without fully automating the creative process. This conversation really highlights the importance of balancing AI capabilities with human insight. 🤔

    this is great advice -- I gotta say it's sometimes confusing to hear how in depth you take your reviews in regards to true experience design as opposed to product design -- or at least in my opinion. It seems that in scandanavian countries, design is looked at more holistically and thru the lens of service design where architecture and furniture design are just as much about UX as making apps, software and websites. I find that hiring managers in America tend to focus more on technical aspects of production over UX thinking... do you find that to be true as well? I just hear a lot of product designers talking more eagerly and critically about the form moreso than the function, especially for junior roles -- maybe because that's how they get to contribute sooner into their jobs if they are indeed hired. Curious to hear your thoughts, cheers

    Rabbit r1 was clearly a scam (Coffeezilla has been digging into it). I don't think the Humane AI pin was supposed to be. Both failed, but for the same reasons ultimately ... didn't do anything actually useful and tried to force a new device or form factor for this when that wasn't necessary. The phone is the obvious place for this to live. If we want a secondary device, well, we already have that, too ... the smartwatch. (A likely third is just an ambient device ... which already exists in smart speakers, too.) What I'm amazed by is ... they both shipped these to reviewers. With the Rabbit r1, were they hoping to just get a pass on the the fact that it just didn't work? The Humane AI Pin is just fundamentally flawed, but that should have all been figured out before they shipped a single unit. That they shipped them to reviews and not to a small beta group is crazy. I have to assume in both cases, they wanted to get revenue coming in immediately and thought the hype cycle would help them.

  • @catalin-ap
    @catalin-ap Місяць тому

    The much simpler take on these, as shown and investigated by other youtubers, is that thse two hyper-hyped products are on the edge of being scams/frauds... The Human AI has received almost 0% positive reviews, and the Rabbit was better, because of the price and probably the funny rabbit animation. So, from a product strategy and UX, there's probably not much to say, with this perspective. Also, the fact that the Rabbit has a touchscreen, that you cannot use, especially in the Settings, where it would have been most welcome. But you can use it in the rare situations when you need a keyboard, is good to know. Other than that, they would have probably been interesting gadgets, if they war working as claimed.

    Great points on handling failed A/B tests. It's a tough but necessary lesson in understanding what truly resonates with our audience. I use Plerdy's free A/B testing tool on my site because it helps me learn from each test without fearing huge losses. It's all about refining our approach and learning from the data. Let's keep striving to better understand our users! 👍
